From that point on, it's all about building momentum. Jeff needs to go on an absolute tear where he beats several of the top guys on SmackDown Live in convincing fashion. He can take a beating in the process, but in the grand scheme of the story, he needs to come out on top in order to make him seem like a legitimate threat to the WWE title.

Eventually, he can work his way into a number one contender's match around October time, potentially against AJ Styles (who we'd book to lose the strap). It's a story that goes back years, with Styles being frustrated with Jeff back when he had his demons in TNA.
