After defeating AJ Styles, we'd have Jeff Hardy go on to challenge The Miz for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. These two men have met before for the Intercontinental Championship, but now, we're taking it up a notch. We'd have The Miz steal the title away from Styles at SummerSlam before going on a three-month run as champion, only to lose it to Jeff in one of the feel-good moments of the year.

Miz could even win it back the following month to set up a showdown with Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35, but for the sake of this story, Jeff needs to have his crowning moment. It'd validate everything he's done to get back to the top over the last five years, and the fans would eat it up.
