#1 Roman Reigns vs Goldberg at WWE WrestleMania 36
WrestleMania 36 was surely the most unique edition of the Show of Shows. With the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE were forced to do the unthinkable and hold WrestleMania 36 in the Performance Center in front of no fans. Yes, WrestleMania without any fans. They still managed to pull it off, but it was not without hickups.
One of the biggest matches that was scheduled to take place at the PPV was "The Battle of the Spears" as Roman Reigns challenged Goldberg for his Universal Championship. After weeks of build-up, news broke out that Reigns had pulled-off the show at the last minute due to health concerns. The Big Dog later confirmed that he took the decision to protect his family and his two newborn babies. Fans were then looking forward to how does WWE address it in storyline.
A week before WrestleMania, WWE quietly advertised that Braun Strowman will be challenging Goldberg for the Universal Championship at the pay-per-view, completely ignoring the match that was being built for the past few weeks. At WrestleMania 36, the Monster Among Men defeated Goldberg to become the new Universal Champion.
Roman Reigns recently returned to WWE programming at SummerSlam 2020 and has since captured the Universal title at Payback. The Big Dog has formed an alliance with Paul Heyman and has turned into a massive heel.
