#4 Curtis Axel / Michael McGillicutty /
Joe Henning in WWE | Son of "Mr. Perfect" Curt Henning
Joe Henning, who is more well known as Curtis Axel, is the son of “Mr. Perfect” Curt Henning and grandson of Larry “The Axe” Henning, making him a third-generation wrestler. Both Larry and Curt are legends of the wrestling scene. Larry worked for the NWA, AWA and WWWF, now WWE. His son Curt is even more well known than his father, working for the AWA, WWF/WWE and WCW.
Curt Henning held over 10 championships in various premotions during his career, being called one of the best technical wrestlers of all time. On top of this he is considered the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, holding the championship twice during his time in WWF/WWE. As with himself, Curt would go on to train his son Joe, continuing the tradition of fathers training their son inside the squared circle.
Joe would spend 13 years of his 14-year career inside WWE going from developmental to the main roaster, being a part of big storylines and holding championships in every brand he was a part of. He even went on to hold the Intercontinental Championship just like his father before him. Despite all of this he would remain mid-card at best, his in-ring skills are technically sound and no matter what you give him he makes it work. The best time of his career was when he teamed up with Bo Dallas to become the henchmen for The Miz, before the two men turned on their former “friend” and formed the extremely popular group the B-Team. Curtis Axel was released from his contract in April 2020.
