Even though the 16-time World Champion's role in WWE has been reduced to that of a part-timer, he still remains one of the company's biggest stars. Therefore, whoever John Cena faces gets a massive rub, either in victory or defeat. If WWE can get Drew McIntyre to defeat John Cena in the near future, it could do wonders for the Scottish Psychopath.
When 2019 kicked off, it looked like a short feud between John Cena and Drew McIntyre was in the works. Not only did McIntyre confront the Cenation Leader during the latter's RAW return, but he was also credited for rendering Cena, unable to participate in that year's Royal Rumble match. Unfortunately, a solid program between the two never saw the light of the day.
Now that Drew McIntyre has evolved into a much bigger Superstar, it is high time we get a program between the current WWE Champion and the Franchise Player. A win here for McIntyre could be as big as his WWE Title victory against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36.
