WWE Hall of Famer Sting has been in news lately with the reports of him no longer being under contract with WWE. There has been rumors and speculation over the legend being on his way to AEW.
With AEW 's Cody Rhodes engaging in some interesting social media exchanges with the Stinger, fans have taken it as a sign of a massive debut of the WCW legend on All Elite Wrestling. Added to the fact that Mattel has now announced that a Sting figure will not be a part of their WWE Legend's series, several signs are pointing towards him joining AEW.
Sting to AEW?
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Cageside Seats), Sting possibly going to AEW could really be a thing. With there being no official confirmation from WWE on Sting's contract, him appearing at Double or Nothing would lead to a huge pop - at least amongst the fans watching at their homes!
Sting last wrestled in September 2015 against Seth Rollins at WWE Night Of Champions for the WWE Championship. While he announced his retirement, we all know how pro wrestling retirements are, right? Could we see him joining the likes of Arn Anderson and Jake "The Snake" Roberts to be the latest edition to the legends roster of AEW?
