4. Rey Mysterio & Rob Van Dam
Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam are two of the greatest high flyers in WWE history. At the end of 2004, the two teamed up to find tag team success. It instantly worked and made complete sense. Fans loved them and wanted them to have a long future.
Mysterio & RVD defeated Kenzo Suzuki & Rene Dupree to win the tag team titles on SmackDown (December 7, 2004). This should've been a long run for the team, but they lost the titles a month later to The Basham Brothers. Van Dam was injured and would be out of action for over a year.

3. Rey Mysterio & Edge
In 2002, SmackDown General Manager Stephanie McMahon introduced the WWE Tag Team Championships to the brand. The tournament finals saw the duo of Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit vs. the fan favorites of Edge & Mysterio. The babyfaces came up short in an excellent encounter, but this wasn't the end.
A few weeks later, Edge & Mysterio defeated Angle & Benoit in a Two Out of Three Falls Match to win the tag team championships. These two incredible bouts firmly established the new titles. At Survivor Series 2002, Edge & Mysterio lost the gold to Los Guerreros in a Triple Threat Match (also featuring Benoit & Angle).
