2020 was a strange year in WWE for Ricochet. Although popular with WWE fans, the Superstar was seemingly a victim of strange booking.
He started the year helping Drew McIntyre eliminate Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble and even defeated Seth Rollins and current United States Champion Bobby Lashley in a Triple Threat match, to face Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Super Showdown. Unfortunately for Ricochet, the championship match was pretty much a squash.

Ricochet also briefly returned to tag team competition in 2020. For a few weeks the Superstar teamed up with Cedric Alexander, who later turned on him to join The Hurt Business.
Most recently, Ricochet was involved in a feud against RETRIBUTION who, in an attempt to get the performer to join them, faced him week after week. In these matches, Ricochet often faced defeat at the hands of the group.
Given Ricochet's performance in NXT compared to his current WWE status, it seems as though he has not been able to reach his full potential during his most recent angles. Ricochet is a hugely talented member of the WWE roster, and hopefully he will be on a new path in 2021 that can show off the level of skill that he possesses.
