So much so, Cody went to an extent where he even turned his back on Kenny Omega in his greed to become the leader of the Bullet Club and following the dissension between The Elite and The BC, Cody shifted his attention towards the IWGP US Championship.
At Fighting Spirit Unleashed, Cody faced Robinson for the IWGP US Title and walked into the event as the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Having defeated Nick Aldis in one of the most dramatic matches of all time at All In, Cody was on quest to become a Double Champion and that's exactly what he did when he once again defeated Juice and won the IWGP US Championship from the former WWE superstar.
In doing so, Cody technically became a Triple Champion, as he was also 1/3rd of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions alongside The Young Bucks at that point in time.
