#1 Heath Slater
In 2016, WWE showed half of the draft on a live episode of SmackDown and revealed the rest of the names on a special draft broadcast on the WWE Network.
When the show came to an end, Heath Slater was shown sitting alone in a room in the backstage area, and it soon became clear that WWE’s on-screen authority figures had purposely forgotten about the former 3MB member so that he could appear on both RAW and SmackDown as a ‘free agent’.
In the end, Slater won a contract on SmackDown and went on to become a SmackDown Tag Team Champion with Rhyno, who has since left WWE.
Now, with no Rhyno by his side, the former Nexus member finds himself without a storyline and with very little direction as a character, just like in 2016 when he separated from The Social Outcasts at the time of the draft.
Maybe, just maybe, WWE could turn this into an ongoing storyline by having RAW or SmackDown reluctantly accept Slater as the final member of their roster after the 2019 draft.
Slater has been one of WWE’s best comedy characters over the last few years, so perhaps being an unwanted Superstar (again) could kick-start another storyline for him on television.
