Royal Rumble is the most celebrated event in WWE history. The PPV creates a feeling of excitement among the fans, considering the endless possibilities along with a certain sense of unpredictability. The historic match of Royal Rumble revolves around numbers and while the whole match is a roller-coaster ride, there's no arguing the fact that if there is a position that holds the most significance and momentum in this bout, it is the last spot.
The Undertaker, John Cena and Triple H have all won the Royal Rumble from the No.30 spot. While Roman Reigns held this position last year, its time to give the fans the surprise and shock they deserve.
Here are the 5 major superstars who could enter at No.30 this year.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5 Neville
Well, if you want to create a main event caliber superstar then you have them make a shocking return to the Royal Rumble and that too at the 30th spot. Neville is a talented individual and was solely responsible for bringing relevance to the Cruiserweight Division. His heel antics were genuinely appreciated by fans during his time in 205 Live and it cannot be denied that the man deserves a World Title shot.
He may have walked out of the company but, considering that his contract has still not expired, the phenomenal performer would definitely be my pick for the 30th spot this year. Sometimes, shock value along with correct timing turns a star into a superstar and this is what WWE must try to do with the former Cruiserweight Champion.
It would be a shame if he leaves WWE without becoming a WWE Champion someday. Well, gravity may forget this man but the WWE Universe still yearns for his return.
#4 Batista
'The Animal' was not very well received by the WWE Universe when he came back and won the Royal Rumble in 2014 but most of that negativity came due to Daniel Bryan not being in the Royal Rumble match. The great thing about professional wrestling is that you never say never and Batista seems to acknowledge this philosophy too, because, despite the fact that he quit the WWE in unfortunate circumstances, he has never ruled out another return and has openly stated multiple times that he is open to return full-time.
So, if WWE wants to shock the world and receive some mainstream media attention then they definitely need to bring him back one final time and give him the send-off he deserves. Entering the Royal Rumble at No.30 would definitely blow the roof off the place and could lead 'the Animal' to win the whole thing, rectifying the mistakes that led to his departure in 2014.
A win for Batista would be iconic and could give the fans a dream match against 'the Beast Incarnate' at WrestleMania 34.
#3 The Demon King
The reason why the fans love the Royal Rumble is the anticipation and the number of possibilities that it comes with. Finn Balor has officially announced his entry in the Royal Rumble match and despite the fact that Balor is a talented individual, you cannot deny that it is his alter-ego that makes him a legitimate threat in the ring. He has openly expressed that his artistic abilities come alive when he puts the paint on his face and WWE have done a good job protecting his dark side.
Well, if WWE wants to push the envelope with Finn and let him win the whole thing, then they definitely need to send him to the dark side. A more logical and creative way to do that would be to have him enter the Rumble two times.
The first ever Universal Champion is admired backstage for his extraordinary personality. With him entering his first Royal Rumble, it would be an ideal way to put money on 'the Demon' and surprise the whole world.
#2 The Undertaker
The Deadman returned to the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw and left the whole world confused with his promo. But, there might be a bigger picture that awaits us this Sunday at the Wells Fargo Centre. The Undertaker is rumoured to appear at the Royal Rumble and return for one final match at WrestleMania.
If the Undertaker does appear at the Royal Rumble, WWE would not risk his well-being by bringing him early. That is the reason why he could make a shocking return later in the night with the coveted 30th spot that won him the Royal Rumble in 2007.
'The Phenom' is slated to face John Cena this year at the Superdome and his shocking return could be an ideal platform to set this colossal showdown.
#1 Daniel Bryan
The only superstar that the WWE Universe wants to see winning the Royal Rumble besides Nakamura is Daniel Bryan. Despite the speculations that surround Bryan's future in the business, he is definitely one of the odds on favourite to win the whole thing this year.
Moreover, he is currently rumoured to take the No.30 spot, working little time, and go on to win the match to headline WrestleMania. Since Royal Rumble is all about anticipation and shocking moments, this definitely could top the list.
Philadelphia will be on fire if this man shows up this Sunday and if he does, there wouldn't be anyone else who could gravitate that attention from the WWE Universe. He is yet to be cleared by the WWE doctors but, if there is a possibility that WWE is hiding his current situation in order to surprise the fans by having this man enter the Royal Rumble, then he is definitely winning the whole match.
Well, let's hope that 'the Leader of the Yes Movement' shows up this Sunday.
