Stone Cold Steve Austin has had a long history of dealing with injuries

Stone Cold Steve Austin was at the peak of his career in 1996. After winning the King of the Ring 1996 and delivering his infamous "Austin 3:16" speech, the Texas Rattlesnake was scheduled to face Owen Hart for the Intercontinental Championship at Summerslam 1996. Unfortunately, Owen Hart botched his piledriver which resulted in Austin landing on his neck. Stone Cold who had a bad neck prior to the fight, suffered a severe concussion which resulted in temporary paralysis. However, Stone Cold went on to complete the match and win the Intercontinental Title.

Austin did not let the injury keep him away from wrestling for too long as he returned to reclaim his Intercontinental Title from Hart at Survivor Series. What followed next was an era that redefined professional wrestling. Steve Austin would go on to feud with The Rock and the McMahons in an era which is more famously known as the Attitude Era.
