5 superstars who should join All Elite Wrestling

Wouldn't we want to see Neville v Balor again?
Wouldn't we want to see Neville v Balor again?

All Elite Wrestling is slowly and steadily gaining steam. With three former WWE superstars in the form of Chris Jericho, Neville (aka PAC), and Cody Rhodes already on board, AEW seems to be in it for the long haul.

There are rumors that the salaries are comparable to WWE, and the work schedule is more relaxed than WWE. It seems like a lucrative deal which will be tempting for several superstars from all wrestling promotions.

WWE has a stacked roster as of now, due to their aggressive signings throughout 2018. The addition of 205 Live and NXT UK saw more talent being roped in, which has become a problem for WWE.

Having several superstars who are worthy of top-level spots becomes a problem as not everyone can be satisfied. Superstars like Sami Zayn, Karl Anderson, Shinsuke Nakamura are prime examples of indie bigwigs who aren't cutting it in WWE.

We look at five superstars who should jump the ship and join All Elite Wrestling!

#5: Sami Zayn

The Underdog from the Underground should be in the main event
The Underdog from the Underground should be in the main event

As mentioned earlier, Sami Zayn is one of the biggest underachievers in WWE today. He has spent almost three years on the main roster but hasn't won a single title. He has featured in a few championship matches, but has never won the grand prize.

One of the hottest babyfaces on the roster, Zayn was never utilized properly which led to a heel turn for the Underdog from the Underground. Sami Zayn's in-ring performances have made the whole WWE Universe go gaga over him, but it has never translated into a major push.

A man of Sami Zayn's talents should not be in the mid-card by any means. Zayn joining AEW and facing off against the likes of Neville, Jericho and possibly Kenny Omega will be a treat for any wrestling fan.

#4: Hideo Itami

Itami is currently being wasted
Itami is currently being wasted

It is strange to think that Hideo Itami was on the same level as that of Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe in mid 2000s. He was one of the brightest prospects in the Japanese wrestling circuit during that time.

Itami's finisher was adopted by CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, who both became insanely popular in WWE. Itami joined NXT in 2014, but it took over three years for him to debut on the main roster.

Itami's talents are currently being wasted on 205 Live. Hideo Itami joining AEW will help them cater to the hardcore Japanese audiences as well. Itami was a major name in Japanese wrestling not so long ago, and could easily regain his mojo with the new promotion.

WWE is not entirely at fault for Itami's failures though. His unfortunate and untimely injuries never helped him accelerate his career.

#3: Chad Gable

Gable deserves much more
Gable deserves much more

Chad Gable is currently one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions. He has won the Smackdown Tag Team Championship with Jason Jordan in the past as well. Why should he jump ship then?

Chad Gable has consistently proved that he is worthy of a push in the singles division, He is by far one of the sleekest wrestlers on the roster, having represented USA in the Olympics before. He has all the tools to be the next Kurt Angle, but is stuck doing pee segments with Drake Maverick.

Gable's moveset is one of the most interesting things in WWE today. He has a dorky personality similar to Kurt Angle, who he is repeatedly compared with.

Gable can easily become of the best wrestlers in the world with the right push. Gable, unlike others on this list has had a little success but he deserves much more than that.

#2: Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe is a beast, a monster and a maniac and should be booked llike one
Samoa Joe is a beast, a monster and a maniac and should be booked llike one

Imagine being the best talker in the company and one of the finest wrestlers with over a decade of experience in the indies, and yet finding it difficult to succeed on the main roster.

Samoa Joe is unarguably one of the most devastating guys in WWE today. His character work and skills on the microphone are unparalleled, and he has given tremendous matchups against the likes of AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura to name a few.

Similar to Hideo Itami, Samoa Joe's momentum was derailed due to his untimely injuries. Joe is nearing the dreaded 40 mark, and has few years left in his career. A switch to AEW, where he can work a lighter schedule and perform at the highest potential, will be a possibility for the Samoan Submission Machine.

#1: Finn Balor

The Demon King should join AEW
The Demon King should join AEW

What's common between Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe? They are former NXT Champions who found it really tough to succeed on the main roster. Finn Balor won the Universal Championship in his very first PPV match, defeated Roman Reigns on the very first night, and has repeatedly featured in the upper card of WWE.

However, WWE has never figured out the formula for Balor. Placing Balor in feuds with the likes of Baron Corbin, Lashley, etc. has killed any momentum he ever had. Balor used to be an ultra aggressive heel in NJPW, and an intense babyface in NXT. He has none of that on the main roster.

The "happy to be here" and "ever-smiling" babyface gimmick never worked for any superstar in the history of WWE.

A switch to AEW where he can reunite with his former Bullet Club mates will be a much welcome move.
