When Bobby Lashley re-signed with the WWE, great things were expected from him, including a possible dream match against Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. But Lashley turning heel and the addition of Lio Rush as his manager/hype man, has sort of derailed his momentum.
His gimmick, of him showing his backside to the fans, has also not worked (surprise, surprise!), and has been quite comical, to say the least. His brief alliance with Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre - a heel triumvirate - fell flat too.
I'm not quite sure a Royal Rumble victory will help Lashley when his character on RAW, currently, is laughable and comical, rather than one that is fearsome and dominating.
Lashley could maybe set-up a new feud at Royal Rumble, which could eventually lead to greater things for the former MMA fighter.
