Del Rio is still struggling for a clear direction

WWE was firmly behind Alberto Del Rio when he arrived in the company. He had a main event level push, won the Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble and the WWE championship in one stretch.

Despite this big push, Del Rio’s stock fell big time in front of the fans and he was slowly relegated to a mid-carder. Del Rio’s initial run came to an abrupt end due to a backstage altercation which got him fired.

Del Rio would return months later and get a clean win over John Cena. In turn, he also won the United States Championship, but this was the only good part about his return. His momentum cooled down fast and he is still struggling to find a clear direction.
