Samoa Joe has done it all in his illustrious professional wrestling career — that is, except win the WWE Championship.

The Samoan Submission Machine's achievements are endless, including being a two-time NXT Champion, two-time United States Champion, one-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, five-time TNA X Division Champion and a one-time ROH World Champion among his other accomplishments.

The only thing missing from Samoa Joe's trophy case is a World Championship in WWE, specifically, the WWE Championship. Winning the WWE Championship would certainly be the icing on the cake of a spectacular career for Samoa Joe.

Now, some have speculated that Samoa Joe's days competing inside of a WWE ring are numbered. Samoa Joe filled in as a color commentator on Monday Night RAW during the latter half of 2019 as he was recovering from a thumb injury. However, once Joe was cleared for action he left the commentary booth and returned to the ring, paving the way for a possible WWE Championship opportunity in the future.

Unfortunately, Samoa Joe would continue to deal with injuries. Joe suffered a stinger during a tag team match in January with Kevin Owens against Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy on RAW, resulting in Joe being pulled from the match. Samoa Joe would then suffer an additional concussion filming a Monday Night RAW commercial for the USA Network in February, sidelining him again.

This bad luck was further compounded when Joe was suspended for 30 days for his first violation of WWE's Wellness Policy in late February. Due to these injuries and suspensions, Samoa Joe has recently once again transitioned into a regular color commentator on Monday Night RAW, joining Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton, and hasn't competed inside of a WWE ring since. This has led fans to question if Samoa Joe will ever wrestle again, let alone compete for the WWE Championship.

However, while Joe's commentary has been critically acclaimed, many wonder if he will return to the ring ever again or ever compete in a WWE Championship match. There hasn't been any official retirement announcement from Samoa Joe or WWE, leading fans to speculate that Joe isn't finished as an in-ring performer just yet.

While Samoa Joe has suffered injuries in the past, his star quality and ability in the ring and on the microphone is up there with the best that WWE can offer right now. Having a WWE Superstar hold the WWE Championship in addition to doubling as an announcer on the show would certainly be an interesting proposition for Monday Night RAW, but one that WWE should certainly not dismiss entirely.
