The Rock returning at WWE Royal Rumble 2021, winning it, and going all the way to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37 for the Universal Championship is a possibility that can't be denied. There's no doubt to the fact that the return of The Rock would lead to a massive viewership increase on the WWE product and bring a lot of mainstream attention.

However, this would become yet another example of a part-timer taking a spot from someone else. The Rock doesn't need another victory at the WWE Royal Rumble. There are many other ways WWE could book a match between him and Reigns.

The ongoing angle of 'The Tribal Chief' Roman Reigns has been one of the best storylines on WWE TV in recent memory. It would make perfect sense for WWE to book yet another massive family-centric feud at WrestleMania 37. However, if things don't turn out to be well with The Rock, who else could step-up and face Reigns? Maybe a certain Samoan Submission Machine whom we all know as Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe has been out-of-action for quite a while now but he continues to appear as a commentator. As great as he is behind the mic, fans do miss him in the ring. WWE Royal Rumble 2021 could be a perfect place for him to make his surprising return, win the match, and book a ticket to WrestleMania 37.
