WWE likes to rely on certain Superstars, and although that can sometimes be monotonous, it is also a strategic move. Furthermore, the Superstars they choose to utilize are a crucial part of the overall product and would be sorely missed if they were ever replaced.
The WWE Universe likes to claim that the company can just build new stars, but they never seem to realize that it's a process and takes time. It's not like WWE can just look at a guy, call him the next John Cena, and trot him out in front of the audience. Creating a Superstar, especially one capable of entering the main event scene, takes time and a lot of effort.
With that being said, and the future still needing some time to get ready for their eventual main event roles, here are five Superstars WWE prefers to rely on. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us who you think The WWE likes to rely on.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5 Roman Reigns
While Roman Reigns is no longer being pushed down the WWE Universe's throats, he is still a mainstay in the weekly product. Now, a lot of that has to do with Vince McMahon's stroke within the company, but that doesn't mean Reigns isn't deserving of the position he is in right now.
Between his improved mic work and the ability to get the crowd behind him, Reigns is the total package. He is also vastly improving inside the squared circle and turning regular TV matches into PPV quality spectaculars. If nothing else, Reigns has had a long, arduous road to the top of the mountain and is one of the most solid performers on the roster.
In all honesty, Roman Reigns is that rare kind of super athlete that can match the intensity of Brock Lesnar. He has also been molded into quite a nice babyface character, which is no doubt helping his career.
#4 The Undertaker
Let's be honest here.
There's one reason why WWE keeps bringing back The Undertaker and that has to do with his larger than life presence. From the moment the light goes out and the gong sounds, you know that fear has crept into the mind of the opponents.
And that's why the WWE needs The Undertaker. He is arguably one of the few trump cards that the company has left and is usually responsible for some very memorable moments. Of course, that isn't always the case and he has been known to have a bad match here and there, but just seeing him is enough to make any event must-see.
The Undertaker is a bit of a unicorn in today's WWE. Not always relied on anymore, but when they need a legend to trot out for a special appearance, he is usually the one they call. Here's hoping they continue to do and are able to create a few more memorable moments before he retires.
#3 Kevin Owens
Why does WWE keep relying on Kevin Owens?
Although some see Owens as the butt of the joke or someone that doesn't have the look that WWE covets, he seems to still get a lot of TV time. He has also been featured prominently in blockbuster feuds over the past couple of years, which has only worked to raise The Prizefighter's stock.
With that being said and some still wondering why WWE would put Kevin Owens in a top card position, one has to realize that a lot of it has to do with mic skills. Sure, he's excellent in the ring, a tremendous storyteller and able to take some big risks, but it's his talking that will bring you in the door.
In all honesty, the man just has an ability, to tell the truth, and to act as a mouthpiece for the WWE Universe. He's also the perfect misfit anti-hero that is poised to turn WWE on its head. All that and more are reasons why WWE relies so heavily on Kevin Owens and who could blame them?
#2 Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is a workhorse!
Beyond that, he is an everyman that the WWE Universe can easily get behind. He is even one of the most entertaining Superstars to watch in WWE, which probably has a lot to do with why the company relies on him. He is just that one guy that fans always get behind no matter if he is a good guy or bad guy.
The WWE Universe got behind him when he was a member of The Shield and some still loved him after watching the future Champion turn his back on his brothers. Not only does that prove just how lovable he is, but it also shows just how powerful of a character he is and how important he is to the product.
When things are looking down, Seth Rollins is one of those guys that WWE relies on. He's that rare trump card that can turn the tide just by one segment and that's why the company continues to utilize him.
#1 Brock Lesnar
It's no secret that the WWE loves to rely on Brock Lesnar and while this has been known to drive fans crazy, there are two distinct reasons why the company continues to do this. Of course, not everyone is going to agree with these points, but they aren't the ones running a multi-million dollar company.
The first reason has to do with Lesnar bringing legitimacy to the WWE and that is a very powerful weapon for them. Whether the WWE Universe wants to admit it or not, any segment that involves Lesnar looks like it hurts and that allows the fans to suspend their disbelief.
The second reason is that he is virtually a guaranteed draw if put in the right situation, which is nothing to sneeze at. In fact, it's proof positive of just how important a guy like Brock Lesnar is to this company. He even helps create media buzz in the mainstream and that is something WWE has struggled with at times.
