#4 Bobby Lashley retains the WWE Championship at WWE WrestleMania 37 Night One

Bobby Lashley angers the WWE crowd in the opening match of WWE WrestleMania 37 Night One.

At WWE WrestleMania 37 Night One, the first WWE match in front of live fans in 13 months was a surprise choice. The WWE Championship opened the show. It gave Drew McIntyre a well-deserved first reaction from the 20,000 plus WWE fans.

After getting deprived of that experience from a WWE crowd at last year’s WrestleMania, it was great to see him get it at WWE WrestleMania 37 Night One. You could tell how much he enjoyed it.

The WWE Championship match at WWE WrestleMania 37 Night One was an excellent 18 minute match to start the show off on a strong foot. They built up some great anticipation with Drew’s attempts to hit the Claymore Kick on numerous occasions but Lashley and MVP constantly prevented it.

McIntyre even hit an impressive series of three straight Future Shock DDTs but only got a two count for his efforts. This was quickly followed by a great somersault dive over the top by McIntyre onto Lashley and MVP outside the ring. The action returned to the ring where Drew wasn’t able to hit the Claymore Kick on Lashley.

After one particular attempt, Bobby Lashley was able to counter into a Hurt Lock and shockingly, McIntyre passed out. The audience booed as they wanted that big moment for Drew at WWE WrestleMania 37 Night One. Here is hoping it is a long build for a special moment for McIntyre in front of fans at a big show in the future.
