The NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 2020 tournament capped off with an incredible win for Hiromu Takahashi. "The Ticking Timebomb" got his hands on the trophy for the second time in his career. He did so by putting another instant classic against El Desperado.
Following his triumph, Takahashi made it quite clear that he is gunning for the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Taiji Ishimori. He also added that he wants to face the winner of the NJPW Super J-Cup 2020.
While it remains to be seen what plans NJPW has in store, Takahashi could end up sharing the ring with either El Phantasmo, Lio Rush, ACH, or anyone else from the field of eight in the Super J-Cup. Either way, this tournament seems like it'll play a major role in the build to Wrestle Kingdom 15.
Tonight Hiromu Takahashi declared that as Best of the Super Jr. 27 winner, he wants to face the winner of Super J-Cup 2020!Who will step forward to prove they are the best tournament wrestler in the world? Find out on FITE & NJPW World!https://t.co/hpMBu5YfdZ#njbosj#sjcuppic.twitter.com/PzCsf98dgp
That match could take place on the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 15 while Night 2 could feature Ishimori defending his strap against the winner on Night 1.
