#2 The women of WWE took over the show and showcased the diversity of the roster at WWE Royal Rumble 2021

WWE Royal Rumble 2021 featured a different kind of card. The WWE women's division has long been touted as one of the most stacked rosters in all of professional wrestling. At this pay-per-view, the company decided to give the ladies half of the matches, as three out of the six contests scheduled featured the talented females.
On the WWE Royal Rumble 2021 Kickoff show, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defeated RAW Women's Champion Asuka and Charlotte Flair to regain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Jax and Baszler received an assist from Ric Flair and Lacey Evans. The pair cost Charlotte this bout. Regardless, all four women worked hard to deliver a solid match.
On the main card, Sasha Banks successfully defended the SmackDown Women's Championship against Carmella once again. Although this rematch from WWE TLC felt unnecessary, it showed how much Carmella has improved in the ring. It also showcased Banks as one of the best performers in the entire company.
Later, the Women's Royal Rumble Match was a superbly booked spectacle that fully displayed the diversity of talent on the current roster. The start with Bayley, Bianca Belair and the returning Naomi gave this bout a lot of adrenaline right off the bat. Billie Kay brought some comedy to the match, too.
Surprise returns and NXT debuts kept things moving along, as Rhea Ripley dominated by eliminated seven superstars.
Bianca Belair's performance was phenomenal. The final three of Belair, Ripley and Flair was a wise decision that gave the final stretch of the contest extra weight. The exchange between Belair and Ripley made it clear that WWE was making a statement that "this is our future." From start to finish, this Women's Royal Rumble Match took over this show in every way.
