5 teams a reunited Shield could face

As rumours of a full reunion of The Shield persist, it begs the question of what teams they could possibly face.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose reunited over the summer and have now won the Raw tag-team championships. They have yet, however, come out to help Roman Reigns as he continues to be out-numbered by the Miz and his Miztourage. The episode of Raw where Ambrose and Rollins come out to save their old Shield mate can't be far off now, however.

If the Shield does reunite, WWE will need some teams to pit them against. In this article, we are going to run down 5 possible sets of opponents for the Shield.

#5 The Miztourage

Let's get the Miztourage out of the way first, since they are obviously the team the Shield will be facing first out of the gate. A feud between the Miztourage and the Shield would be an excellent opportunity for Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas to up their standing in the company.

Both Dallas and Axel were highly touted prospects when WWE signed them. Bo Dallas signed with the company as an 18-year-old and has now been with them for 9 years. The son of Mr. Perfect, Curtis Axel, has been with WWE for 10 years now.

While both were once considered to be top-stars in the making, neither has achieved up to their potential. A high-profile feud opposite top stars like Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns could change all that.

#4 Titus Worldwide

The Shield could easily be put into a feud with the members of Titus Worldwide. This doesn't necessarily mean The Shield would feud with members Apollo Crews, Akira Tozawa and Titus O'Neil, however.

There are plenty of celebrity members of Titus Worldwide that The Shield could have excellent matches with, such as Wale, Anthony Bourdain, or the LA Rams mascot. LL Cool J is even a member of Titus Worldwide!

Titus O'Neil has a long list of celebrity friends due to his extensive charity work. Look for WWE to eventually realise this is something they can use to help get his new faction over.

There are a few other stables who could feud with the Shield, though realistically they are unlikely to occur. A revamped Corporation faction, the Mexi-cools, or even the Spirit Squad are all on the table here.

#3 The Club

While WWE hasn't shown much interest in reuniting Finn Balor with his former Bullet Club stablemates yet, there are signs this could be changing. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have been exhibiting babyface-like behaviour lately and could be paired with Finn Balor for a feud against The Shield.

While on the surface this would make The Club vs The Shield rivalry a babyface stable vs babyface stable, WWE might not mind that. Remember The Shield will have Roman Reigns, so to a percentage of fans The Shield will be the heels in the angle.

WWE might consider placing greater emphasis on The Club considering the level of tension starting to brew between the company and non-WWE signed Bullet Club members, namely the Young Bucks. WWE could strengthen their intellectual property rights claim of the "2 Sweet" hand signal and other catch phrases used by the faction by having their own version of the faction on their programming.

#2 Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish

The Undisputed Era has debuted in NXT and there is a lot of buzz about what they will be able to do as part of the brand. All three members of the stable are excellent wrestlers and would be able to have an amazing program with the Shield.

Whether the Undisputed Era ends up feuding with The Shield or not depends on how long it takes them to get to the main roster, and how long The Shield remains together. WWE has had their eye on Adam Cole for some time now, however, so if they see an opportunity for him to be moved to the main roster, they're going to take it.

With that being said, Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura were both in NXT for years before being called up.

#1 The Wyatt Family

The Shield and the Wyatt Family had plenty of battles during each stable's initial run. A feud between them in 2017 would have to be different in some regards. Bray Wyatt would need a new family, as Braun Strowman has moved on and nobody has seen Luke Harper or Erick Rowan in months.

While it would be easy to move either Harper or Rowan back to Raw to be with Bray, new members could also be added to the family. One possible option for new members of the Wyatt Family would be some type of merger with NXT's Sanity faction.

A feud between Eric Young and Bray Wyatt which ultimately leads to them aligning could be the start of a new era for each faction. They could then move on to feud with The Shield.
