#1. Sasha Banks and Bayley
Necessity is a master motivator. Sasha Banks and Bayley are arguably the two biggest stars in NXT history. Before they made their way to RAW, the two women already had what many considered to be two of the greatest matches in women's wrestling history. They were supposed to hit the main stage and dominate in the same way they had in NXT.
They weren't exactly unsuccessful. Banks and Bayley have combined for 5 RAW Women's Championship reigns, which is impressive, but none of those reigns are exactly memorable. Bayley's lone reign lasted a mere 76 days and came to a halt courtesy of Alexa Bliss.
Banks' longest run with the Title came at a mere 27 days. In fact, her combined four championship runs were only for a period of 82 days. While holding the RAW Women's Championship is an undoubtedly impressive feat and holding it 4 times seems historic, the reigns deserve further scrutiny and fail to compare to those of Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey.
After a falling out and one of the worst feuds in wrestling history, Banks and Bayley are back to being best friends and neither have been shy about their desire for women's tag team gold, even before Vince McMahon made the historic announcement on RAW. Bayley told Dana Warrior of Total Warriors, "We just want something that we can all work towards and if we aren’t in that championship spotlight like Ronda [Rousey] or Asuka now on SmackDown that there’s something more to work towards because there’s so many talented women on the roster and not all of us can go for that championship run."
When Sasha Banks heard rumours of women's tag team championships this summer, she told SkySports, "That’s a dream come true too and to work with my best friend, it’s an honor..." Banks continued, "For me I think the next focus is being a tag team champion. That’s the goal. That’s something I really want to work for and if we get those titles, I want to make sure that’s the most important title in the WWE."
Sasha Banks and Bayley don't just want the inaugural Women's Tag Team Championships. They need them and that makes them the most dangerous duo on the roster.
