There is a lot of content in WWE that seems dated and out of touch. However, The Street Profits speak the language of the WWE Universe, they are cool and they are hip, and because of the reasons that I have outlined, they have a natural connection with the WWE Universe.
Compare them with say, The Viking Raiders. As good as Erik and Ivar are in the ring, their gimmick is steeped in fantasy and while that may translate into a cool gimmick on a Netflix production, it just seems like it's trying too hard in a sports entertainment setting, to be quite frank.

WWE has always been accused of not striking while the iron is hot. Whether it was the case with Rusev when the Rusev Day chants were being heard in every arena across the United States or whether it was the decision to not have Shorty G become King of the Ring, WWE has a track record of missed opportunities.
And this time, they've put the titles around the waists of The Street Profits while they're red hot.
