It's no secret that Lashley is no longer with Impact Wrestling. In fact the rumour mills indicate that he is headed for WWE, at this moment. Imagine the kind of impact (no pun intended) he would make if he were to show up at WrestleMania. We're going to propose 5 scenarios by which he could be a part of the grandest stage.
Mind you, these are all speculative. So we invite you to chime in, in the comments below, with your own fantasy scenarios. How do you think Lashley can fit into the future of WWE?
We believe all of these five scenarios could be quite interesting indeed.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5 Distracts Lesnar in the Universal Championship match
The last time Roman Reigns faced Brock Lesnar, the match was great. However, the contest became unforgettable thanks to Seth Rollins and his unbelievable cash in. WrestleMania is all about moments. Could Lashley's appearance at WrestleMania distract the Beast and allow Reigns to pick up the big win?
What this will achieve is the possibility of Lesnar vs. Lashley if Lesnar were to stay back after WrestleMania 34 was done and dusted. After all, this is a dream feud that many have spoken about. Both men have MMA backgrounds and have achieved success in the sport.
The dream match could be Lashley's motivation not just for the distraction but also for his WWE return. Considering how much fans have wanted a confrontation between Lesnar and Lashley, this could rival the pop that the Hardy Boyz got when they returned to WWE.
All said and done, this would be one of the best ways to bring Lashley back, but not make Roman Reigns look like a dominant Universal Champion who can win on his own!
#4 Wins the Andre 'The Giant' Memorial Battle Royal
We've seen how little the Andre the Giant memorial Battle Royal means. Mojo Rawley won the last edition, and he really has not fared well since then. In our opinion, the Battle Royal could be a great device to make an instant impact and impression. Enter Bobby Lashley!
Lashley could clear the ring of all the competitors and prove that he's back in WWE for good. This would be a great way for him to establish his dominance, and prove that he's next in line for the Brock Lesnar spot. Instead of conferring a meaningless title upon a young superstar who does not get a push thereafter, this could be a great way to go about things!
Lashley winning the Battle Royal would not come as a surprise either. He's certainly as worthy a competitor as Goldberg, the other favourite being touted for the same.
Lashley is a familiar face and can certainly get the crowd all pumped up!
#3 Becomes Shane McMahon's tag team partner
All of WWE's biggest stars are on RAW. Lashley could be the superstar that SmackDown Live needs to tilt the balance in their favour. Based on the events of SmackDown Live this week, it seemed that Owens and Zayn were allied against Shane McMahon. The stage seemed set for a tag team match at WrestleMania 34.
In our opinion, Lashley could be the perfect tag team partner for Shane McMahon. After all, why should only one sibling team up with a world renowned MMA fighter and not both?
#2 Becomes the official WrestleMania host
The WrestleMania card is already very packed. It may make sense for Lashley to make his return to the ring on the night after WrestleMania. To give the WWE Universe of the legend that he is, he could be the WrestleMania host. The man certainly has the charisma and appeal to get the show started in the right manner.
Lashley was still young and inexperienced when he was in WWE. He reinvented himself in Impact, and became a very central figure, in their storylines. He also became a far better promo during his time in the independents.
Fans have wanted Lashley to return forever. He'd be a very effective WrestleMania host, for the very same reason. The pop he would receive upon his arrival would be resounding!
#1 Teams up with Braun Strowman
We saw Braun Strowman take on the entire Tag Team Division and win, on RAW. He will now be challenging The Bar, alone, for the Tag Team Championships. However, doesn't that go against all of WWE's rules? The Tag Team Championship has to be held by two men.
We think that Lashley could be Strowman's teammate. If The Bar has to be dethroned, who better than the 'Monster Among Men' to do so, in conjunction with Bobby Lashley? These two could be as dominant as the 'Brothers of Destruction'.
So we've outlined 5 things Bobby Lashley can do at WrestleMania! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
We believe we speak for everyone when we say that Lashley would be a great fit in the current WWE landscape!
