Last month, the rumor mill stated that The New Day was reportedly interested in working in WWE NXT. The Black and Yellow brand has become quite popular over the last few years. It registered a historic win over RAW and SmackDown at WWE Survivor Series last year. Besides, Rhea Ripley made history earlier this year by becoming the first Superstar to defend an NXT title at WrestleMania.

The likes of Tyler Breeze, Fandango, and Finn Balor went back to NXT and became more relevant than they were on the main roster. While The New Day is one of the top factions in WWE history, they have never held the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Since they have nothing left to achieve on the main roster, Big E and Kofi Kingston could head to Triple H's show and challenge the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions, Imperium.

The reigning NXT champs portray villainous characters, which is why the heel vs. face dynamic would work as well. If WWE sends The New Day to NXT, the fans might even witness the first-ever SummerSlam match with an NXT title on the line.
