There was a lot of speculation as to how WWE would use the Mysterio family going forward when Dominick got highly involved in his father's feuds on RAW last year. Rey Mysterio sat down for an interview with Sportskeeda's own Gary Cassidy at that time and revealed that we could expect Dominick to have his in-ring debut in 2020.

I'm hoping that my son can be ready by next year. I hope that we can all get the chance to see him in 2020, and I'm just as excited as the fans to see him step into the ring and have an official match, so let's hope that it's next year

Last year we saw Dominick getting to show some of his in-ring skills when he helped Rey Mysterio during his Survivor Series WWE Championship match against Brock Lesnar. The junior Mysterio joined his father to deliver a double-619 to the "Beast Incarnate" before climbing on to the top rope and performing a frog splash. He certainly impressed the WWE Universe with his athleticism in those few seconds!

A great way for Rey Mysterio pass the torch

If he really is planning to retire, there is a chance that Rey Mysterio comes out with Dominick next week and gifts his iconic mask to his son. This would be a perfect passing the torch moment and a great way to properly introduce the WWE Universe to the next generation of the Mysterio family.

"I would definitely love for him to carry on the Mysterio name. It'll be up to him if he wants to wear the mask or not, I think he's very well identified right now."
