The tagline for WWE 2K22 is: “It hits different”. That seems like an apt tagline, with the game's improved gameplay and controls. Numerous animations and controls to block an opponent's moves or simply dodge them have been implemented in the game.

Just as John Cena has five moves of doom in WWE, gamers can create a combo move for any superstar and customize it as well. Furthermore, the developers have claimed to have drastically improved the existing reversal system.

Weapons such as steel chairs, kendo sticks, stop signs and others will get damaged on overuse. Meanwhile, the tables will have a dynamic damage animation where the weapon will break slightly differently each time.
