Former WWE Champion CM Punk made his spectacular return to professional wrestling last week on AEW Rampage: The First Dance in Chicago, Illinois at The United Center in Chicago.

The event marked Punk's return to wrestling after a seven-year absence.

Alberto Del Rio revealed that he considers CM Punk to be a friend and is incredibly happy to see Punk return to the industry that he loves:

"It's awesome. I know the fans are thrilled 'cause CM Punk is back. I consider CM Punk a friend and i know he considers me a friend. We had to leave the business or the company where we used to work for whatever reasons. But i'm happy he's back doing what he loves the most because he's one of those wrestlers who started in this business for the love or passion for the business. Not so much for being rich or being famous, he started with this business cause he was in love with the business from the first time he went to a wrestling show..."

When asked which WWE Superstars that Alberto Del Rio would like to face should he return to WWE, Del Rio surprisingly picked his former rival John Cena.

Alberto Del Rio was quick to praise Cena, stating that he doesn't get the praise that he deserves:

"Well John Cena. John Cena is so great. I always say the same in all my interviews. They don't give him the credit that Cena deserves. I don't even know why. But, i have always been a good wrestler. But i became a better wrestler the day i wrestled John Cena. That day and all the following matches through my career in WWE against Cena, i learned something from him. He was the one teaching me how to really listen to the crowd and be you the performer, taking the crowd in that rollercoaster of emotions..."
