#4 Sonya Deville leaves the company WWE SummerSlam
While fans believed that a bitter rivalry between two former best friends Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville had come to an abrupt end, Deville made a surprise return to WWE SmackDown on the July 31 episode. The Pride Fighter made an immediate impact by attacking Rose and chopping off her hair during the appearance to set up towards a match for WWE SummerSlam.
Rose did not back down and challenged Deville to a Hair vs. Hair match at SummerSlam, which Deville accepted. The last episode of SmackDown before SummerSlam saw the stakes being raised, as the match will now be a No-Disqualification match with the loser leaving WWE.
While Deville is playing the heel in this fight, WWE must allow her to take the fall at the expense of Rose who is slowly developing her character and making it better.
Deville is currently a fan-favorite, and we’ve seen her build herself really well this year. Even though she’s miles away from a push similar to Becky Lynch’s, losing and leaving the company only to return again in a newer and fresher gimmick could help the Superstar.
With the no-disqualification rule in place, we could see Otis help Rose pick up the victory leading to Deville's exit, and she can end up returning in a refreshed role.
