The Grizzled Young Veterans failed to win the WWE NXT Dusty Rhodes Classic Cup for the second time. The team of Zack Gibson & James Drake was outdone by the new MSK tag team on NXT.

GYV decided to take MSK’s NXT Tag Team Championship opportunity away from them for some time and attacked the two men backstage. They ended up injuring Wes Lee’s hand, and that likely means that the duo will not be able to compete for the NXT Tag Team Championships this week.

Now that GYV has taken out a hurdle in their way, WWE must allow the duo to do something significant this week too, to get in contention for the NXT Tag Team titles. GYV is one of the best tag teams in WWE, and they could do well by winning the titles.

Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan have not defended their titles since December, and WWE needs to take the titles away from them to put them on another deserving team. GYV winning the titles will allow MSK to return and challenge the new champions in the months to come.
