Roman Reigns made his main roster debut as a part of The Shield at Survivor Seris 2012. The trio interfered in the WWE Championship match and helped CM Punk retain his title that night. Roman Reigns would go on to make history at the mega event in the coming years. A year later, The Shield teamed up with Cesaro and Jack Swagger to take on Rey Mysterio, The Usos, Cody Rhodes, and Goldust in a traditional Survivor Series Elimination match.

Reigns eliminated four opponents and won the match as the sole survivor for his team. Six years later, all three major WWE brands faced off in a Triple Threat 5-on-5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination match. Reigns was the caption for Team SmackDown, and he pinned NXT's Keith Lee in the end to secure a win for the blue brand.

John Cena has several accomplishments in his bag when it comes to Survivor Series, including world title wins against the likes of Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho. He has also competed in several 5-on-5 elimination style matches, but he has never been the sole survivor.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
