#1 AJ Styles defeats Shinsuke Nakamura
The Intercontinental Championship tournament is on the way, and WWE is trying to put its top Superstars in competition for the title. While several SmackDown Superstars are a part of the tournament, it’s interesting to see AJ Styles from RAW appearing to represent the Red brand.
Sami Zayn, who was the Intercontinental Champion before he was stripped of the title, wasn’t too happy with the decision WWE made to crown a new champion. However, with Daniel Bryan, Elias, Shinsuke Nakamura, Jeff Hardy, Styles, and Sheamus competing to become the secondary champion, fans will be in for a treat at Backlash.
A Superstar from WWE RAW in the chase for a SmackDown title
Styles will take on Nakamura this week in what could end up being the best match of the tournament. With such high stakes on the line, WWE must allow Styles to pick up the victory over Nakamura after a great match.
With Styles progressing in the tournament, things will become very interesting as a Superstar from RAW will remain in the chase for SmackDown’s secondary title and provide a great threat to the other Superstars of the brand.
Styles progressing ahead as a heel could also end up giving us a great match between him and babyface Daniel Brayn or Jeff Hardy in the final.
