Elimination Chamber is upon us! One of the most gruesome matches in WWE history, Elimination Chamber is known for its unique format and star-attractions.
The unforgiving structure is revered for several iconic moments over the years. Careers are made and careers are destroyed inside the hellacious structure!
Elimination Chamber matches are filled with six top-level athletes who are willing to risk their bodies to provide entertainment. The women superstars are also competing in the Elimination Chamber match for the second year in a row.
The card for the event is short and sweet with not many matchups, and it is a step in right direction by WWE. Several promising cards are wasted due to filler matchups which have no business being on a PPV.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
WWE must continue this trend of smart booking decisions, and avoid these five decisions at the PPV.
#5 Charlotte and Becky Lynch interfere in the RAW Women's Championship match
Ruby Riott has been neglected badly in the buildup to her RAW Women's Championship match against Ronda Rousey. The spotlight has solely been on the Wrestlemania matchup between Charlotte and Ronda Rousey, and no attention has been given to building a real feud between Ruby and Ronda.
However, Ruby Riott is an excpetional performer and capable of giving Ronda a run for her money. Their build-up has been sorely disappointing, but the match should be entertaining.
However, WWE's fixation with building feuds on PPV could get in the way of an interesting encounter. WWE should avoid bringing Charlotte and Becky Lynch into the match, and let thier stories develop on weekly programming.
If WWE doesn't pay attention, the Charlotte-Ronda-Becky storyine could very well go on from being interesting to being downright annoying.
#4 Kofi Kingston is eliminated early
WWE has struggled to build good babyfaces in the past few years. All the good ones either become stale after few months or run out of fresh content for their characters.
The same cannot be said for Kofi Kingston, one of the best babyfaces present in WWE. He has performed and excelled for over eleven years now, and barring the original New Day, has never ever seen a fan backlash.
There is nothing to say that hasn't been said about Kofi Kingston's performance at Smackdown Live last week. He gained serious momentum from that outing, and WWE must make sure they do not let it go to waste.
WWE's obsession with giving "heel heat" has led to several babyfaces become bland. WWE must not repeat this mistake and let Kofi continue his mean streak, brother!
#3 Braun Strowman loses against Baron Corbin
Braun Strowman defeated Baron Corbin in a highly entertaining fashion at WWE TLC 2018. However, their long-running feud sadly did not end there. Instead of moving Braun Strowman into bigger and better things, WWE dragged on the stroryline with Baron Corbin.
A presumably final match with Corbin is scheduled for Strowman at Elimination Chamber. The match is a No Disqualification encounter, which is Strowman's territory. He has excelled in several such matchups against Roman Reigns, and could produce an enjoyable matchup against Corbin.
However, the No DQ rule could work against Strowman. If WWE decides to pull the "heel heat" trigger once again, Strowman could potentially lose with a distraction from McIntyre.
A superstar like Braun Strowman should not be losing matches, even if it is due to interference.
Braun Strowman should regain his momentum he used to have in 2017 soon.
#2 Randy Orton wins the WWE Championship
Statistically speaking, Randy Orton is the most successful superstar in the Elimination Chamber matchup. He has won more World Championships than all other superstars combined! Also, entering last, he should have a greater chance of winning the title.
However, Orton winning the title should not happen at this stage. Orton is definitely not the superstar WWE needs to focus on currently. If WWE intends to crown a new champion, it should be Samoa Joe or Kofi Kingston.
Randy Orton's last run with the WWE Championship was abysmal and totally unnecessary. His win ended Bray Wyatt's short-lived push, and Wyatt is yet to reach the heights of that run.
Randy Orton closed off Smackdown Liv looking extremely strong and potentially a huge favorite leading upto Elimination Chamber. However, he should not leave the Chamber with the WWE Championship.
#1: Nia Jax and Tamina win the Tag Team Championships
Continuing the heel heat aspect of WWE booking discussed earlier, Nia Jax and Tamina could potentially become the first ever Women's Tag Team Champions.
No superstar is as hated as Nia Jax in WWE today. She has faced criticism not only for her character, but also for her in-ring skills. WWE's obsession with pushing her has backfired severely and resulted in her becoming the biggest heel in WWE today.
Tamina is currently the longest active superstar on the roster who has never won a title, and WWE must keep this streak alive. Tamina is nothing spectacular when it comes to in-ring skills, and seems to have never changed ever.
If WWE decide to crown Nia Jax of all people as the champion, the dislikes for Charlotte Flair replacing Becky Lynch will look significantly less in magnitude.
What do you think should NOT happen at Elimination Chamber?
