5 smart booking decisions that can make Survivor Series a success

Survivor Series in on its way to being a damp squib.

Survivor Series is considered to be one of the big four PPV's of the year along with Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, and Summerslam. But this once-great marquee event has lost its sheen in recent times. One glance at this year's match card should be sufficient to dash any fan's hope, that Survivor Series might be WWE's magnum opus.

WWE can still turn things around. As they did with the recently held TLC PPV. And Jinder Mahal losing the WWE title to AJ Styles, the inclusion of John Cena as the fifth member of team Smackdown and a possible The Shield v/s The New Day match, are certainly steps in the right direction. But if the WWE really wants to make Survivor Series a massive success, then these are the booking decisions that they need to make.

#1 Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn should help Team Raw win

Ente
KO and Sami should be an integral part of the show.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

It is such a gigantic shame and a letdown that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn do not have a match at Survivor Series. Sami Zayn and KO are two of the best wrestlers not only on Smackdown but the entire world at the moment. Nobody saw the Sami Zayn heel turn coming. And ever since then, the recently reunited brothers from another mother, have been the best thing about the blue brand.

The storyline demands that these two veterans once again find themselves on the sidelines. But it would be disappointing if Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are a no-show at Survivor Series. It would be awesome if this dynamic duo shows out of nowhere and exact their revenge by helping team RAW defeat the men in blue.

#2 AJ Styles should defeat Brock Lesnar

E
Can AJ Styles slay the beast at Survivor Series?

The entire WWE Universe erupted with joy when AJ Styles pinned Jinder Mahal on Smackdown. AJ Styles is now a two-time WWE Champion and will represent the blue brand at Survivor Series. The "Phenomenal One" will square off against the "Beast Incarnate" at Survivor Series in what is expected to be a match for the ages. Nobody would have thought in their wildest dreams that they will witness Brock Lesnar v/s AJ Styles inside a WWE ring, but this match might just end up being the match of the night.

However, it is no secret that the WWE is gung-ho about Brock Lesnar and wants to establish him as the most dominant wrestler ever to step inside the squared circle. WWE's endgame obviously is to book a match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania, which the "The Big Dog" is expected to win. Thus, AJ Styles might end up becoming another one of Brock Lesnar's prey. But the WWE should refrain from doing so.

AJ Styles has proved time and time again that he is the best and the most dedicated wrestler on God's green earth. Thus, AJ Styles deserves to conquer the main event at Survivor Series. Though it is highly unlikely, the fans are still hoping for an AJ Styles victory. The entire arena and the millions of fans watching at home will jump out of their seats if AJ Styles gets his hands raised in victory at Survivor Series.

#3 Give fans a Shield Reunion

Enter
The Shield should reunite at Survivor Series.

The Shield is one of the most successful WWE stables of all time. And the highly-anticipated reunion almost happened at TLC, but unfortunately, fate had other plans. Roman Reigns fell ill and was replaced by Kurt Angle in the match. Even though the exact date of his return to the ring is still uncertain, the seeds were planted on Raw for a possible The New Day v/s The Shield match at Survivor Series.

The fans have their fingers crossed for a Shield reunion and Survivor Series should witness the birth of 'The Shield 2.0'. WWE is equally desperate to make the reunion happen as soon as possible. Because the only possible scenario in which the fans will cheer for Roman Reigns is if he is once again a part of The Shield. Thus, a Shield reunion is a win-win situation for one and all. And if Roman Reigns is cleared to compete in the ring then this dream match seems like a lock for Survivor Series.

#4 Team Raw vs Team Smackdown steals the show

Team Raw v/s Team Smackdown has to deliver.

There are only a couple of currently booked matches for Survivor Series that the WWE fans are excited about. The team Raw vs team SmackDown bout is obviously one of them. The other champion vs champion matches on the card leaves a lot to be desired, and thus this star-studded match has a lot riding on it. The team red vs team blue can make or break the show. With superstars like Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Randy Orton, Shane O'Mac, Shinsuke Nakamura, John Cena and Bobby Roode already named for the match, it is safe to assume that this mega-clash will deliver. If it doesn't, then nobody can save this PPV from being a damp squib.

But if the WWE wants to deliver a decent PPV then it has to ensure that other matches deliver as well. Natalya vs Alexa Bliss and The Miz vs Baron Corbin do not sound exciting at all. But the WWE should ensure that they are not downright horrible. The best way forward for the WWE will be to crown new champs and tweak the match card even further before Survivor Series takes place.

#5 The Usos win their match against The Bar

Enter cap
Both the teams deserve to win the match.

The Usos and The Bar have been the best thing about their respective brands for the past few months. Both the teams have been involved in epic feuds with The New Day and The Shield respectively. Thus it comes as no surprise that the tag team championship matches have stolen the show for the past few PPV's. Therefore, the collision between these two great tag teams at Survivor Series has the WWE Universe on the edge of their seats.

But it is no secret that The Bar has immense star power which The Usos simply cannot match. Therefore in all probability, Vince Mcmahon might book a 'The Bar' victory for the event. The Bar is without any shadow of a doubt a phenomenal tag team. But if there is one tag team that deserves to beat them, then it is The Usos. Also, The Bar partnership is not expected to last long, and they can turn on each other in a blink of an eye. Thus it makes sense to solidify the legacy of The Usos instead. They have most definitely earned it.
