Even though I wasn't necessarily opposed to the idea of The Fiend being squashed by Goldberg in Saudi Arabia, it was the manner that it happened that rubbed people the wrong way. The Fiend did not lose to The Jackhammer, but instead to a botched move that Goldberg, a part-timer who was rusty, had trouble delivering to his opponent.
For him to lose to yet another part-timer in John Cena would be really disappointing, in my opinion. As I've mentioned with Goldberg and Brock Lesnar before this, now is the time when they get the next generation of WWE superstars ready for the future of the company.

And so, yes, The Fiend should be the person to defeat John Cena, having him pass out in the middle of the ring to a Mandible Claw, establishing him as a top-tier star in the whole process, I think. John Cena's career is winding down and I don't think this loss will really affect him.
It may well be John Cena's very last match as well.
