As a WWE Superstar, you sometimes have to be aware of what you do in public and during performances because of WWE's corporate nature nowadays. There are a number of things Superstars can do to get fined by the WWE and some of them aren't really written down and are a little arbitrary.

#5 Blading

Batista and Chris Jericho

One of the biggest things that WWE has banned since the new era is blading. For fans who may not be aware, blading is when a wrestler deliberately makes a cut with a blade to oneself to bleed during a match.

Blading was banned at the beginning of the PG Era and has stayed that way since. We all know what happened when Batista bladed during a match against Chris Jericho during that infamous RAW.

Vince McMahon personally gave both men a piece of his mind before fining them both. Batista was fined $100,000 while Jericho and referee Mike Chioda were fined $5,000. Even the agent who helped put together the match, Dean Malenko, was fined $5,000.

Batista said the following about the meeting he and Chris Jericho had with Mr. McMahon after that incident:

"Then he starts passing out fines. So my fine was $100,000…My heart dropped. I thought it would be like $25,000…When he said $100,000, I was just heartbroken. I literally think that he sucked the life out of me that day. I think that's the day that I knew things were never going to be the same."

#4 Chairshot to the head

Chairshots to the head are a thing of the past

WWE officially banned chair shots to the head in 2010. This was done to protect Superstars from concussions and other head-related injuries which can have long term effects.

A chair shot to the head can lead to a hefty fine in WWE nowadays and Triple H and The Undertaker were fined for it at WrestleMania 27.

#3 Accidental bleeding on the mat

Don't bleed on the mat

Did you know that WWE Superstars can get fined for bleeding on the ring canvas, even if it's accidental? This rule was actually revealed by Brodus Clay in a Reddit AMA in 2015. Clay said the following about an incident at Extreme Rules 2011 where he was bleeding at ringside when asked about:

"Took a ladder to the head and you get fined by wwe 3k if you bleed on the mat so i dove out the ring to save a dollar"

#2 Being late for events

Big Cass

Over the years, we've heard of a number of WWE Superstars who have gotten into trouble for reaching a live event or show late including Big Cass who was released last year for this and other reasons.

In fact, WWE issued a zero tolerance policy on being late in 2014 and any Superstar who reaches late is fined on the spot. The cut off time is 2 PM ET for RAW and 2 PM local time for SmackDown Live.

#1 Alcohol

Stone Cold can get away with it

Despite what you may think after watching Stone Cold Steve Austin chugging beer inside a WWE ring, WWE is actually very strict about alcohol. Obviously, wrestlers are not allowed to wrestle inebriated or under the influence but it doesn't stop there.

WWE Superstars are not allowed to consumed alcohol in the 12 hours prior to a live event or taping. Violating this can land Superstars a hefty fine.
