#1 The return of the Second City Saint
It has been more than five long years since we last saw CM Punk in a WWE ring, but to this day one can hear fans break out into "CM Punk!" chants during random episodes of RAW and SmackDown. While all this seemed useless before, 2019 has seen a new chapter in this storyline, as Punk has been vocal about a potential return to the professional wrestling world.
'The Best in the World' (not you, Shane McMahon) confirmed his involvement with FOX for a backstage role in WWE's latest show on the FOX Network. While nothing is finalized, this is the closest CM Punk has been to making a WWE return. Even WWE COO Triple H has kept fans guessing with his comments of, "We're open for Business".
This combined with Punk's willingness to talk about wrestling openly in the last few months, have again given the WWE Universe hope that the 'Second City Saint' might make his return to the company soon. While the interview with FOX was for a backstage analyzer role, if he starts working with them, his in-ring return might not be very far away.
Punk recently mentioned that it would take a big paycheck for him to return to the business and a desperate Vince McMahon would not care about spending those extra bucks to get people talking about the product. Hopefully, 2020 will see 'Cult of Personality' hit our TV screens again.
