The original Universal title match that was scheduled for WrestleMania 36 was between Goldberg and Roman Reigns. The Big Dog decided to pull himself from the event at the last moment, for his safety. Fans must be aware that Reigns has battled leukemia in the past, and was out of action for several months back in early 2019. Reigns was replaced with none other than "The Monster Among Men", Braun Strowman. The behemoth went on to defeat Goldberg to win his first Universal title.
Strowman has seen a bunch of ups and downs on the main roster, during his 5-year stint. He was incredibly over with the WWE Universe at one time but lost all momentum when Brock Lesnar defeated him at No Mercy 2017 with a single F5. It seemed like Strowman would get the Big Show treatment, and used as fodder to elevate young talents. Thankfully, years of grinding paid off at WrestleMania, and Strowman finally won the big one. Looking at what Strowman went through over the past five years on the main roster, he deserved this victory and the title reign.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
