5 things we could see on RAW after Extreme Rules - Sasha Banks returns, heel turn for top Superstar?

Could Banks return?
Could Banks return?

Extreme Rules 2019 is over and it was generally a great show. Some really good matches took place and some great results were also generated in the process. Shinsuke Nakamura, after being invisible for a considerable amount of time, won the Intercontinental Championship from Finn Balor in the pre-show of the PPV.

AJ Styles, meanwhile, won the US Championship from Ricochet with the help of his stablemates. New Day members Big E and Xavier Woods, too, saw championship gold come to them as they won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles from Rowan and Daniel Bryan.

In other results, Kofi Kingston retained his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe while Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch successfully stopped the team of Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans.

However, right after Rollins defended his title, Brock Lesnar came out and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to successfully take the title off the Architect.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

With that, the show ended and in the next episode of RAW, we could see the following 5 things…

#5 Kevin Owens spewing more venom

KO explosion
KO explosion

Shane McMahon, despite all the criticism, is set to get more time on TV. At first, it was against Miz, then came Roman Reigns and now, it’s time for him to pair up against Kevin Owens, where the Canadian seems to representing the WWE Universe.

After winning his match against Dolph Ziggler in 16 seconds at Extreme Rules, he took the mic and smashed Shane McMahon verbally. That alone is suffice to make the claim for Owens having a major feud with the Chairman’s son.

As a result, the next episode of RAW could feature Kevin Owens slandering Shane McMahon and who knows, going physical in their altercation.

#4 Paul Heyman rubbing it in

Paul Heyman is now in charge of RAW after signing a deal with the company. We have already seen the changes made to the weekly show following the arrival of Heyman and we are set to see more of him in the coming weeks.

However, even if he wasn’t the Executive Director of WWE RAW, we would have seen Paul Heyman come to RAW in the next episode and sing praises of Brock Lesnar, like he always does.

Brock Lesnar could also be expected to make an appearance with Heyman at his side. The Humble Advocate will almost certainly rub in salt on the wounds of Rollins for losing his title.

After that, we could see Rollins come up and confront the pair and setup a feud that guarantees a big match at SummerSlam. Or, we could have a totally new opponent for the Beast.

#3 New Day celebrations

New Day have always been up there at the pinnacle of the Tag Team Division ever since their inception. Right now, however, is the best time of their lives. While Big E and Xavier Woods hold the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, Kofi Kingston still reigns as the WWE Champion.

As a result, every member of the New Day holds a belt around their waist. Being New Day, the most fun-loving and entertaining group centered around the PG-Era, we could expect them to throw a grand party following their big wins. On top of that, the next episode of RAW marks the 5-year anniversary of New Day as a group.

We could see the trio throwing pancakes around while poking fun at Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan and Rowan for failing to deliver at Extreme Rules. The episode might also determine who will be Kofi Kingston’s opponent as SummerSlam.

Personally, I think if a party is thrown, there is a good chance for Samoa Joe to come out and crash it and continue his feud for the WWE Title.

#2 Sasha Banks return as a heel

Could Banks return?

The last image of WWE Extreme Rules was a devastated Seth Rollins looking at an equally broken Becky Lynch following Lesnar’s cash in. While this leaves the future of the couple uncertain in terms of kayfabe, what we can be sure of is that Becky Lynch needs a new challenger for the RAW Women’s Title.

Lacey Evans has been on the back of The Man ever since WrestleMania 35 was concluded. So she has gotten enough time and chances at the RAW Women’s Title. In the process of it all, her act has also gotten stale.

As a result, the company should avoid continuing this feud at all costs and have a new competitor instead. And who better than Sasha Banks for that? The former RAW Women’s Champion has been off TV since WrestleMania and could make an appearance in the next episode of RAW as a heel, where she could berate Lynch for costing Rollins his title because the latter was looking after her and not paying enough attention to Lesnar.

#1 Balor joining The Club

We should see this more often
We should see this more often

Finn Balor is perhaps the unluckiest Superstar in WWE. He has such a massive fan following and yet, Creative can’t seem to find something to for him. That is a big shame, especially considering that he was holding the Intercontinental Championship prior to Extreme Rules.

Right now, he is without a title around his waist. With the WWE Championship and Universal Title already having enough contenders, it is difficult to see Balor being pushed to that scene.

So, what next for Balor? He could either continue his feud with Shinsuke Nakamura or take on AJ Styles for the US Title, or join Styles, Gallows and Anderson to form a full-fledged Club stable.

Balor was the first leader of the fabled Bullet Club and in WWE, The Club is the imitation of the (in)famous stable. As a result, it would be incredible to see Balor turn heel on RAW and join The Club – making it the strongest stable in the company.
