#5: Styles revealed what Vince McMahon told him when he first signed with WWE

There is one distinct difference between a WWE 365 special featuring AJ Styles & the earlier episode featuring Kevin Owens. The difference is that while Owens & Vince had a rocky relationship when it came to expectations, we learned that Styles & the boss have a mutual relationship based on respect & admiration.

It is clearly felt that Vince is proud of AJ Styles, as both would smile & embrace on most encounters featured during the special.

Here is what Vince McMahon told him when AJ first started with WWE:

“I was anxious, I was worried, what was expected of me. I talked to Vince. He goes, ‘We’ve got guys that can do what you do, that’s not a big deal. I need a pit bull.’ And I thought, ‘Oh! That’s who I am.'”

As expected, not only did Styles deliver according to Vince's expectations, he might have even surpassed them to some extent given the fact that AJ Styles has enjoyed a relatively fair position in the company in recent times throughout the entire year.

Moreover, having a good working relationship with Vince McMahon is extremely important to succeed in WWE, which is one of the most prevalent themes in documentaries featured on the WWE Network.

#4: Japan helped him fall in love with Pro Wrestling once again

According to AJ Styles, he left TNA since they made him an offer, reducing his salary about 60%

After mixing it up in the independents for a while, AJ Styles signed a contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in 2014. Styles felt that one of the main reasons why people appraised his performances in the ring in Japan was because he was actually having a good time both inside & outside the ring along with Bullet Club comrades Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.

This particular part of the documentary also delves into his personal interests, most notably his love for video games. Styles revealed that he was obsessed with video games since he was a kid to living life as a grown adult.

Overall, Japan proved to be a huge sigh of relief for his career after a stressful time leading up to leaving TNA over contract negotiations.

#3: Styles' match against Finn Balor at TLC 2017 made him proud to feel like a bankable star

Finn Balor & Bray Wyatt were supposed to go one-on-one against each other at TLC 2017. However, after Wyatt's unexpected injury leading up to TLC, WWE needed a last-minute replacement to make it still feel like a worthwhile match.

Meanwhile, Styles was stationed over in Peru, and when the call was made, AJ Styles finally made it to the arena after sitting in long-flights, completely jet-lagged.

However, both Styles & Balor wrestled each other in what turned out to be a critically praised match despite the unfortunate circumstances hindering this last-minute fixture.

Vince McMahon clearly looked proud in a backstage clip, and AJ revealed that he felt proud to be deemed as a bankable star in the company. Not only did AJ grasp this opportunity to live up to Vince McMahon's expectations, but he also proved several people wrong who thought that AJ was well-suited to be a mid-card wrestler.

#2: Paul Heyman wanted Styles to know how proud he felt about him after Survivor Series 2017

Paul Heyman praised AJ Styles for being the equivalent of HBK & Bret Hart to this generation of wrestling fans after his brutal match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series 2017.

Not only that, but Styles' AJ's WWE 365 Network special revealed that Paul Heyman wanted Styles to watch him praise The Phenomenal One from the sidelines. So during this promo, Styles was actually witnessing Heyman praise him in front of the camera.

This truly shows that Styles has earned the respect of some of the top professionals working in this business. Moreover, getting the stamp of approval from the mastermind behind ECW & perhaps pulling out a great match out of Brock Lesnar might be one of the main reasons why his position within the company was further strengthened to guarantee his rise to the top.

#1: AJ Styles does not know when he is going to retire

Despite being 41 years of age, AJ does not think of retiring yet

The WWE 365 documentary on AJ Styles also featured a moment where Styles reminded himself of the fact that his body does not function at the level it used to do during his peak years. This reminder was further added to an even larger realization of Styles recalling that age is catching up with him.

Despite being 41 years of age, AJ Styles is still one of the best performers in the world. One of the most important things to learn from this documentary is that AJ is fully aware of what position he is currently in. AJ Styles does not know how long this adrenaline rush will last and therefore decides to live in the moment, unfazed by thoughts of thinking about the future or the past.

So the whole crux of this documentary solely lies upon the realization that despite all the ups and downs, AJ Styles is currently enjoying his time in WWE as much as he can, for no one ever knows what the future awaits, and that is one of the best morals to live by.
