Love it or hate it, what’s done is done.

A few weeks ago, Goldberg laid down the challenge for the Universal Championship to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, who gladly accepted it.

The stage was set, and fans expected Wyatt to pick up another victim on his way to greatness as Goldberg is one legend who would have really made him look much bigger.

Instead, Goldberg went after the menacing figure right from the opening bell and took him down with a Spear. He fought off a couple of Mandible Claw attempts and delivered a few more ordinary-looking Spears to keep The Fiend off his feet.

He reversed another Mandible Claw attempt and delivered a weak-looking Jackhammer to pin Wyatt and win the Universal Champion, shocking everyone watching the show.

The Fiend then got up, the lights went out, and he disappeared into thin air.

While the match was not too great, and many people won’t like the result, it makes sense to have someone like Goldberg break Wyatt’s streak and make him seem more "human". While there are only a handful of men on the current roster who WWE could have booked to defeat The Fiend down the road to break his streak, Goldberg felt like the most natural choice and not many in the WWE Universe can argue that Goldberg can’t defeat The Fiend.

The booking allows Goldberg to have a few more matches in WWE before parting ways, possibly at WrestleMania 36, and opens the door for less one-sided bookings for The Fiend.
