SummerSlam 2019 saw Bayley defend the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Ember Moon. The SmackDown women's division has been pretty stagnant in recent months and Bayley's run as the champion hasn't really done much to change that.
With Bayley winning it looks like it could be more of the same for the SmackDown Women's division unless WWE has special plans. It looked like the perfect opportunity to give Ember Moon a run with a title and who knows, maybe even turn Bayley heel for the first time.
#1. What happened in the WWE Championship match?
![Fans weren't happy when this match ended in count-out](https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg?w=190 190w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg?w=720 720w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg?w=640 640w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg?w=1045 1045w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg?w=1200 1200w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg?w=1460 1460w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg?w=1600 1600w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2019/08/0ddd6-15655816564753-800.jpg 1920w)
We still aren't exactly sure what happened at the end of the match between Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton at SummerSlam but it could have been a massive botch.
Midway through the match, the action spilt to ringside and the ring bell rang out of nowhere. Even the performers looked surprised and it was a while before the announcers told us that it had been a count-out.
If WWE decided to plan this match to end in a count-out, it was a terrible decision. A world title match on one of the biggest PPV's of the year ending by count-out doesn't make either Kofi or Orton look good.
