The IIconics have been best friends for more than a decade and were among the few true female tag teams in WWE. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, the company decided to split the tag team.
It was revealed in the weeks leading up to the split that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon saw Peyton Royce as a future solo star. The least WWE could have done was build up their match against The Riott Squad for much longer to allow more excitement surrounding the stipulation.
Instead, the company decided to add the breakup stipulation on an episode of RAW with no buildup and then forced the two women to split, before seemingly writing Billie Kay off WWE TV.
Peyton Royce and Billie Kay won the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania last year and deserved much better from the company when they decided to split them. There was a better way to make Peyton Royce a star without having to separate the two friends so quickly on WWE TV.
