Edge came out at WWE Money in the Bank to challenge the Universal Champion once again. This was the first time Roman Reigns and Edge came out to compete in a one-on-one match.

Both men exchanged some stiff strikes before Reigns went for the Superman Punch. The Rated-R Superstar countered and took control of the match. He punished the Universal Champion in the corner and then applied the STF to try and make the champion tap out.

On the floor, Edge dodged a Spear from Reigns, who crashed through the barricade. Edge used the opportunity to hit him through another barricade.

Back inside the ring, a Superman Punch took out Edge, who bumped into the referee. With the official out cold, Edge applied the crossface with a piece of steel chair before The Usos came out to help their leader at Money in the Bank.

The Mysterios came out to stop them, but Seth Rollins appeared to take the veteran out with a Superkick. Edge stayed in the fight and delivered a Spear to Reigns. The Messiah once again distracted Edge, allowing Reigns to deliver his own Spear to pick up the win at Money in the Bank.
