Raquel Gonzalez defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Ember Moon at TakeOver: In Your House. Gonzalez walked out with Dakota Kai by her side while Moon was without her partner during the match.

The War Goddess nailed Gonzalez with a dropkick as soon as the match started. She was aggressive as she kept Gonzalez on the back foot for some time. The NXT Women’s Champion took back control by knocking Moon off the apron into the barricade.

Both the NXT Superstars showed off their power and skill throughout the contest. Kai continued to help Gonzalez gain back control at crucial moments of the match.

Moon caught Gonzalez with the Eclipse late in the match. However, Kai put her friend’s foot on the rope to break the count and save the champion. Shotzi Blackheart arrived in the middle to even the odds and took Kai out while the action intensified inside the ring.

The NXT Women’s Champion stayed in the action and finally hit the powerbomb for the win.

The match was good for both the superstars involved. The War Goddess helped elevate Gonzalez and gave her a fighting victory. Both women paced the match well, and it will be interesting to see who steps up to Gonzalez next.
