5 things WWE NXT got right this week (June 24, 2020)

Last night’s main event on WWE NXT saw Keith Lee defend his NXT North American Championship against Finn Balor and Johnny Gargano in a Triple Threat match. The match would allow the winner to keep the North American Championship and challenge the NXT Champion Adam Cole in a Winner Takes All match.

With Lee as the babyface in the match, it was obvious that Gargano and Balor would both try to go against him. He used his size and power advantage over the two smaller men who relied on their speed and heelish tactics.

While the former Universal Champion was gaining momentum during the match, Lee recovered to take down both men at the same time to make a big statement.

All three men got enough of the action, and The Limitless One hit his finisher on The Prince of NXT to retain his title and now has an opportunity to take home the NXT Championship too.

This was a good match that could have headlined any TakeOver event and delivered. Lee winning was the right choice as he has the most momentum behind him and a babyface needs to step up to Cole rather than a heel.

Will Karrion Kross wreak havoc when Lee and Cole come face to face? We’ll just need to wait a couple of weeks to find out!
