#2 Legado del Fantasma got one step closer to the WWE NXT Tag Team Champions
Santos Escobar decided to take some time off from WWE NXT, but Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde were ready to take home tag team gold. Escobar’s absence would help both men focus on their aim rather than protecting their leader on NXT.
Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa weren’t too happy as they too were looking to get their hands on the NXT Tag Team Championships. The hard-hitters were ready to teach Legado del Fantasma a lesson on Tuesday Night.
A female WWE star said her life is in danger. Details HERE
Ciampa delivered a big running elbow to Mendoza and nearly injured him in the process. After he was cleared to continue, he decided to get back at The Blackheart.
Mendoza and Wilde isolated Ciampa and kept the pressure on him for some time. Thatcher ran in to save his partner but could not do much initially. The Grizzled Young Veterans arrived late in the match and hit Ticket to Mayhem to Ciampa while the referee was distracted.
Back in the ring, Mendoza and Wilde hit their tag team finisher to pick up the victory. The match between these two teams was good and showed just how well stacked NXT’s tag team division is.
Mendoza and Wilde will likely move ahead and get a shot at MSK soon while GYV will move into a long-term rivalry with Ciampa and Thatcher.
