#2. Dolph Ziggler nearly cost Bron Breakker his title on WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Bron Breakker was ready for his first title defense on WWE NXT Vengeance Day. He took the fight to Santos Escobar early before the Mexican superstar bounced back.

He threw the champion into the steel steps and hit a neckbreaker for a two-count. Escobar kept the pressure on Breakker and worked on his joints throughout the contest. He used some holds and submission maneuvers to punish the NXT Champion.

Breakker mounted a comeback and used his strength to take back control. Legado del Fantasma got involved to help their leader, and the distraction provided Dolph Ziggler with an opening. The RAW Superstar hit Breakker with a superkick behind the referee’s back.

The champion dodged a frog splash and hit the military press powerslam for the hard-fought win. It was obvious that Breakker was going to win on his first defense. However, Escobar gave Breakker a good match to kick off his title reign.

A few big names are waiting to become Breakker’s next challenger. Who will take on the top champion after Vengeance Day?
