#2. Damian Priest retained his United States Championship on WWE RAW

Apollo Crews challenged Damian Priest for the United States Championship on WWE RAW last week. The former refused to fight Priest last week and gave the opportunity to Sami Zayn instead.

Crews looked set to win the title in his first match back on RAW, but Priest pushed him around early on. The two men matched each other’s strength well and kept the action ticking.

Priest had a standoff with Commander Azeez, and the distraction allowed Crews to take control of the contest. He hit a standing moonsault for a near-fall and continued to dominate the champion.

The Archer of Infamy fought back on, taking his challenger down with a springboard leg lariat. Azeez took Priest off the top rope while the referee was distracted. The referee sent Azeez backstage, allowing Priest to focus.

The United States Champion unloaded on his opponent right after and choke-slammed Crews. He then hit The Reckoning for the win on RAW.

WWE can find many better opponents for Priest than Crews. However, the former Intercontinental Champion did put up a good fight. RAW is doing a good job at building Priest every week and he could move into the world championship picture early next year.
